Helping you find psychological steadiness after a breast cancer diagnosis

The Breast Cancer Psychologist

Receiving a breast cancer diagnosis can feel like the ground has shifted beneath your feet.

Information to absorb, decisions to make, appointments to attend, and uncertainty to live alongside.

It can be hard to know what matters most, or where to begin.

A smiling woman with shoulder-length blond hair, blue eyes, wearing a gray shirt and a necklace, standing against a light green background.

When I was diagnosed with breast cancer, I quickly realised that knowing what was happening medically didn’t necessarily help me navigate those early weeks & months psychologically.

Alongside the appointments, decisions, and practicalities of a cancer diagnosis, I found myself searching for practical ways to steady my mind, make sense of my emotions, and keep putting one foot in front of the other.

As a Clinical Psychologist, I was already familiar with many of the psychological strategies that could help. As a patient, I discovered how different it feels to put those strategies into practice when you’re the one living through the uncertainty.

I also became increasingly aware of how few practical, accessible, evidence-based psychological resources existed to support women during this time.

“Finding Steadiness” grew from the intersection of those two experiences.

My hope is simple: That every woman facing a breast cancer diagnosis has access to compassionate psychological resources that support her to feel a little more steady, as the journey unfolds.

One step at a time.
